these two pieces have stayed with me and i think it is worth remembering them/seeing them...

i actually cried when it was over. not the sappy kind of cry. the cry that comes from your gut in delay and you can't really place why it is happenning. the same cry i had after i saw eternal sunshine. the piece was so powerful in its prescision.

if i see a photo of this dance, the choreography and music immediately flow. if i hear the music (brandenburg concerto no 3) i see the entire piece in my brain. this is a piece filled with "sticky ideas", as rob kapilow would say. i can't wait to see it again, and i've already seen it three times.

the other thing about these companies is that the other pieces have just as much integretity. granted, the companies are both relatively new, and their respective choreographers may burn out, but for the moment i can't wait to see what comes next. that's the most enthusiastic i get about dance.
