when i first saw this "company", a couple of year's ago (i think), i thought it was interesting--a blend of working dancers and advanced students doing better than average student work. i don't know where it has gone from there. they are still doing curran work, among other harvard-related choreographers, with a different set of students and fewer working dancers. the best piece was liz's (santoro). it was not vanilla. it made the audience laugh at times. and, i guess, most importantly, particularly in this context, it was odd enough to keep the audiences' attention.

this is a perfect time to jump back to...

at which they did more curran and more havard-related choreographers. in this most recent concert i missed having ryugi, brenda, and liz dance, because they added some element that wasn't just decent women dancers. they each have their own unique intent or something, which made the inside/out performance.

a side note...when dancers stare into the down stage right corner in fear/anticipation/searching, i am NOT going to like the piece.
